Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Agape Social uses cookies and similar browser storage, what each one is for, and how you can manage your choices. For other information we collect and how we use it, see our Privacy Policy.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They help websites remember your session, protect forms, and store preferences. Similar technologies include local storage, which we use alongside cookies for some preferences such as appearance and cookie-banner dismissal.
Cookies We Use
The table below lists cookies and storage keys used by Agape Social. Essential cookies are required for the site to function; you cannot opt out of them while using authenticated features.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sessionid |
Essential | Keeps you logged in after you log in. | Session or up to two weeks (browser session settings). |
csrftoken |
Essential | Protects forms and actions from cross-site request forgery. | One year (browser dependent). |
agape_theme |
Functional | Remembers your selected theme (light, dark, sepia, high-contrast, and additional palettes). Stored in a cookie for guests on each visit and updated when you save appearance settings while logged in; also mirrored in local storage as agape-theme on the current device. | One year in the cookie; until you clear site data in local storage. |
agape_font_size |
Functional | Remembers your preferred text size. Stored in a cookie for guests on each visit and updated when you save appearance settings while logged in; also mirrored in local storage as agape-font-size on the current device. | One year in the cookie; until you clear site data in local storage. |
agape_cookie_consent |
Functional | Records that you acknowledged this cookie notice. Stored in a cookie and in local storage so the banner stays dismissed even if one storage type is cleared. | One year in the cookie; until you clear site data in local storage. |
agape_account_inquiry |
Essential | Temporarily stores account status details when you contact support from a banned or suspended page. | About one hour. |
agape_sidebar-sections |
Functional | Remembers which sidebar sections you left open, including left navigation sections (Account, Navigation, Bible Tools, About Us, Legal) on desktop and My Groups and Blogs You Follow in the right sidebar. | Until you clear site data in local storage. |
Cookies We Do Not Use
Agape Social does not use third-party advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks. We do not deploy social-media tracking pixels on the main site experience.
Third-Party Content
Some pages load resources from content delivery networks (for example, Bootstrap styles and HTMX scripts). Those providers may log technical requests to their servers. Blog article editing uses CKEditor when you are logged in as a blog author.
Email and SMS providers process verification messages when you use those features; they do not set cookies in your browser for normal site browsing.
Managing Cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent login, posting, and other interactive features from working.
Clearing cookies will log you out and reset guest appearance preferences.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our technology or legal obligations change. Revisions will be posted on this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
Contact
For questions about cookies or browser storage, use the Feedback form when you are logged in or contact the site administrator. See also our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Community Rules, and Cookie Policy in the Legal section.
